These signs mean that driving from the lane in which they are placed is only permitted in the directions indicated by the directional arrow; the combined symbols of signs P-8a, P-8b or P-8c indicate permission for traffic in the directions indicated by directional arrows. The directional arrow allowing a left turn, placed in the extreme left lane, also means that a U-turn is allowed, unless it is prohibited by the vertical sign B-23 or traffic is directed by the S-3 signal.
