Permissible vehicle speeds, restrictions

1. Sign B-33 "speed limit" means a prohibition on exceeding the speed indicated on the sign in kilometers per hour. The permitted speed indicated on the sign applies, subject to paragraph 4 and § 32, until the place:

1) where another permitted speed is introduced with sign B-33 or B-43;
2) where sign D-40 is placed indicating the beginning of a residential zone;
3) where signs indicating respectively the beginning or end of a built-up area referred to in § 58 para. 3 and § 114 para. 1 points 1 and 2 are placed.

2. A plate placed under sign B-33, as referred to in § 23 para. 2, indicates that the speed limit applies to the driver of the vehicle whose symbol is shown on the plate.

3. Sign B-33 indicating a speed limit greater than 50 km/h in a built-up area applies to passenger cars, motorcycles and trucks with a maximum permissible weight not exceeding 3.5 t, except for:

1) a vehicle transporting dangerous goods;
2) a vehicle with a device protruding more than 1.5 m in front of the driver's seat, as referred to in Article 20 para. 6 point 2 of the Act;
3) a vehicle towing a motor vehicle, as referred to in Article 31 para. 1 point 1 of the Act;
4) a motorcycle carrying a child under the age of 7, as referred to in Article 20 para. 6 point 3 of the Act;
5) a truck carrying people outside the driver’s cab, as referred to in Article 63 para. 2 point 4 of the Act.
