This section is an introduction to the topic of driving licences and explains important information you need at the very beginning of your journey to obtain your licence.

• we discuss all available driving licence categories (e.g. AM, A1, A2, A, B, C, D, T), with special focus on Category B
• we explain the scope of entitlements and the types of vehicles you can drive within each category, pointing out important differences resulting from vehicle technical parameters

We pay special attention to the basic limits related to the maximum permitted mass of the vehicle and the combination, as well as trailer-related issues — including differences when choosing options with a trailer and the most common misunderstandings about permissible configurations.

Additionally, we discuss engine capacity issues, which are especially important for motorcycle categories and help you understand which vehicles fall within given entitlements.

These topics make it easier to understand the differences between driving licence categories in a clear way.

In the second part, we go through the process of obtaining a driving licence step by step, i.e.:

• required documents, medical examinations; we explain the process of obtaining a PKK number, how the course works, the rules of the state exam and the issuance of the document
